Boiler upgrade scheme (England & Wales)

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme is open to people in England and Wales and can provide a grant to cover part of the cost of replacing a fossil fuel heating system with a heat pump when installed by an MCS-certified installer.

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) supports the decarbonisation of homes and small non-domestic buildings in England and Wales. The scheme provides upfront capital grants of up to £7,500 to encourage property owners to replace existing fossil fuel heating with more efficient, low carbon heating systems including heat pumps and biomass boilers.

How to apply

•1. Contact  a suitable MCS-certified installer and get a quote

•2. Confirm you’re eligible (Your installer can help advise)

•3. Agree a quote with your chosen installer.
