The exact cooking area is 38cm. If you're looking for a larger cooking area you might want to consider the XL - this is 47.5cm

Question from james: Asked on 05/06/2022 Re heat deflector plate on 18-inch Boss. It is 13-inch diameter but doesn't sit on the lower grill. Fouls on the lifting handle for charcoal access and handle opposite outer edge. The video shows it sitting in place. Have I got the correct heat deflector for this mode?
